Woodworking has been an Ulbricht family tradition for over 90 years. Creating traditional wooden art that brings joy to people of all ages. Otto Ulbricht started the Otto Ulbricht‘s workshop for fine wooden crafts and toys in Seiffen, Germany in 1928. After World War II, Ulbricht and his family were forced to flee Seiffen in West Germany and finally settled in Bavaria where the company was re-established. In 1968, Otto passed the company down to his son Christian Ulbricht. When Germany reunited in 1990, Christian Ulbricht seized the opportunity and bought back his father’s original company in Seiffen where they continue to operate from today.
In Germany, people celebrate Christmas for 12 days (December 25 – January 6) and German incense smokers began to appear during the 1600’s and where representative of the incense gifts given to the Baby Jesus from The Three Wise Men. On the final night of festivities incense is lit and burned in the smokers to celebrate the gifts from The Three Wise Men.
